The Crown of Bolesław I the Brave - the most important of the Polish Crown Jewels. It has been made in 1320 for the coronation of Władysław I the Elbow-high. It was called “The Crown of Bolesław I the Brave” to emphasize the tradition of polish nation and continuity of ascendency. The last one to crown with the Crown of Bolesław I the Brave was Stanisław August Poniatowski. Later, crown was robbed by Prusian army and in 1811, on the order of the Prussian king Frederick William II, it was melted on the coins and the gems was sold out.
